An Irvington man has agreed to a plea deal that will send him to state prison for a decade following a violent assault on his former girlfriend, according to a statement released by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Frantzky Alcindor, 30, pleaded guilty on June 30, 2025, to charges of second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree criminal restraint in connection with two separate incidents involving 25-year-old Carine Louis of East Orange.

The most serious attack occurred on October 6, 2024, when Alcindor waited outside the victim’s residence before ambushing her.

He slashed her neck twice before fleeing the scene. Days earlier, on September 30, he was accused of holding the same woman against her will during an argument, leading to the criminal restraint charge.

Assistant Prosecutor Mattison Monteleone, who handled the case before Judge Harold W. Fullilove, Jr., said the outcome aims to deliver justice and protection for the victim.

“We are hopeful that this plea deal will restore a sense of safety and stability for the victim and will emphasize the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions,” Monteleone said. “We will continue to fight for the rights of domestic violence victims and make sure they are heard and protected.”

Alcindor is scheduled to be sentenced on September 5, 2025. He will serve 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, which will run concurrently with a five-year sentence for the criminal restraint charge.
