Newark and the North Jersey region are enjoying a clear and pleasant start to the final day of June, with comfortable morning temperatures and a warm afternoon ahead.As of early Monday morning, it was 73 degrees in downtown Newark with light, cool breezes—perfect for those heading to work, school programs, or the bus stop without needing a jacket or sweater.
According to the National Weather Service, today's forecast will closely mirror Sunday’s, with partly sunny skies and a high near 88 degrees.
There’s a slight 20 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms after 2 p.m., as light southeast winds pick up to around 5 to 7 mph.
Tonight brings a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, along with mostly cloudy skies and an overnight low around 75 degrees.
A light south wind around six mph will continue through the night.
Residents are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful weather to close out the month and stay alert for possible evening showers.
