Two Men Arrested After Early Morning Stabbing in Newark’s North Ward

Two men were arrested early Sunday morning following a violent altercation that ended in a stabbing in Newark’s North Ward, according to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda.

At approximately 4:12 a.m. on June 22, Newark Police responded to reports of a stabbing incident in the 400 block of North 6th Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man who had been stabbed after allegedly assaulting another man during a fight.

Authorities said a woman at the scene was also injured after falling to the ground during the commotion.

Emergency responders transported all three individuals to University Hospital for treatment.

The two men—both involved in the altercation—were listed in stable condition and taken into police custody.

The woman was also reported to be in stable condition following treatment for her injuries.
