Trenton Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver That Caused Leg Amputation

Authorities in Trenton are investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian critically injured with a severed leg early Saturday morning, according to preliminary information.

The incident occurred shortly before 5:25 a.m. near the Donnelly Homes on Beakes Street.

Emergency responders were called to the scene for a report of an injured person, and upon arrival, they encountered a devastating scene.

A pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been released, was found with severe injuries after reportedly being struck by a speeding vehicle.

The impact was so forceful that the victim’s leg was severed at the scene.

The individual was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition as medical teams worked to save their life and attempt surgical reattachment of the limb.

Trenton Police have not yet identified the make or model of the vehicle involved in the collision.

The driver fled the scene and remains at large.

The investigation is active, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Trenton Police immediately.
