The Urban League of Essex County is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference this summer through our Tech House initiative—a cutting-edge learning environment designed to bridge the digital divide and inspire the next generation of creators, thinkers, and innovators.

We are currently hiring passionate, hands-on instructors with strong classroom management skills to lead engaging, project-based sessions in 3D Printing, Filmmaking, Coding, and Math for middle school students enrolled in our Summer Tech Camp.

Program Details

Dates: July 7 – August 15, 2025

Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Location: Tech House, Lower West Ward – Newark, NJ

This is more than just a summer teaching position—it’s an opportunity to spark curiosity, nurture skills, and build confidence among youth from historically underserved communities. 
Tech House officials are seeking educators who not only possess expertise but also demonstrate a deep commitment to equity, creativity, and youth development.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Proficiency in at least one of the core subject areas (3D printing, filmmaking, coding, or math)
  • Previous experience working with youth in classrooms or workshop settings
  • Strong classroom management and a passion for interactive, hands-on learning
  • The ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
