Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating the cause of a deadly crash that claimed one life early Wednesday morning on a busy stretch of Route 35.
According to preliminary information, emergency crews were dispatched around 3:50 a.m. to the northbound lanes of NJ-35 after receiving reports of a serious crash.
When first responders arrived, they discovered an overturned vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Despite efforts by firefighters and EMS, the unidentified occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported, and officials have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and local authorities have launched an active investigation into what caused the crash.
Motorists experienced delays in the area as police temporarily shut down a portion of the highway during the investigation.
