The Morris County Correctional Facility has successfully passed its 2024 inspection by the New Jersey Department of Corrections, meeting all required state standards, according to a statement released by county officials.

The week-long review, conducted by Program Specialist Christel Jackson-Lee, evaluated the facility’s physical conditions, staff professionalism, and inmate services.
Inspector Jackson-Lee praised the jail for its cleanliness and commended staff for their professionalism and knowledge.
The Morris County facility was found fully compliant with all standards outlined in the New Jersey Administrative Code 10A:31, which governs adult county correctional institutions.
During the inspection, Jackson-Lee noted that even inmates spoke positively about the jail, particularly its food, cleanliness, and medical care.
Sheriff James M. Gannon credited the facility’s success to the leadership of Warden Chris Klein and his command staff.
“Our officers maintain peaceful order while working one of the most challenging posts in the county,” Gannon said.

The Morris County Correctional Facility is part of the Sheriff’s Office “Triple Crown” of accreditations, having earned certifications from CALEA, ACA, and NCCHC, in addition to recognition for forensic standards in evidence management.
