Burglary Suspect Wanted for Stealing Cigarettes in Newark

Authorities in Newark seek the public’s help in identifying the suspect, who broke into a convenience store and stole boxes of cigarettes valued at $2,000 on May 21.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr stated that at approximately 1:16 a.m., the suspect was captured on surveillance video using a metal object to pry open the door at Krauszer’s Food Store & Deli in the 200 block of Market Street.

Once inside, the suspect left but returned with a black garbage bag, Newark Police said. 

According to Newark officials, the suspect, who wore a black and white sweater, went behind the counter and filled the bag with several boxes of cigarettes before leaving.
