A New Jersey man accused of making threats to kill Governor Phil Murphy was apprehended in Florida over the weekend, officials said.

According to a statement released by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Russ Semeran was arrested Sunday during a traffic stop in Freeport, Florida, by a U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Authorities said Semeran was riding a motorcycle when he was located and taken into custody without incident.
Semeran was wanted by the New Jersey State Police Counter Terrorism Bureau on charges of making terroristic threats.
While police did not release specific details regarding the nature of the threats, officials confirmed the accusations involved threats against Gov. Murphy.
Freeport, located in the Florida Panhandle roughly 130 miles west of Tallahassee, is where Semeran was found.
Following his arrest, Semeran was booked into the Walton County Jail, where he is currently being held while awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

Authorities also impounded several of Semeran’s vehicles, including his motorcycle, an SUV, and an RV, as part of the ongoing investigation.
