ALERT: Police Seek Public’s Help Locating Missing 15-Year-Old Newark Girl

Newark authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 15-year-old Andrea Orellana, who was reported missing on Monday, May 12, 2025, according to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr.

Andrea was last seen around 8 a.m. after being dropped off at her high school. School officials later informed police that she briefly left campus with friends during the day but returned before the school day ended.

According to investigators, Andrea and her friends fled to Newark Penn Station after noticing family members of one of the teens waiting near the school.

When the family members arrived at the station to retrieve them, Andrea reportedly refused to leave with them.

Since then, Andrea’s family has not been able to make contact with her, and her whereabouts remain unknown.

Detectives describe Andrea as 5 feet tall and approximately 125 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a blue school shirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.

Authorities noted that she has a history of running away, but her physical and mental health are considered to be in good condition.
