Clouds, Light Rain Possible Tuesday in Newark; Mild Start to the Day

Residents in Newark and the North Jersey region are starting their Tuesday under cloudy skies and mild temperatures, with light rain expected later in the morning.

As of 4:30 a.m., it’s a comfortable 65 degrees — a pleasant beginning for early risers walking the dog or heading to work. However, you may want to keep an umbrella handy.

According to the National Weather Service, radar shows light precipitation approaching from the west, though much of it is not yet reaching the ground.

Showers are more likely to develop between 10 and 11 a.m., with a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the day.

Today’s high will reach near 72 degrees, with calm winds shifting southeast at 5 to 9 mph. 

Showers will continue into the evening, with a low around 59 degrees expected overnight.

While it’s not expected to be a total washout, be prepared for damp conditions — and have a great day, New Jersey!
