Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds has publicly voiced strong opposition to a clemency application filed by Christopher Blank, a man convicted of attempting to murder multiple law enforcement officers.
According to a statement released by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Blank’s application for clemency has drawn unified opposition from the law enforcement community due to the violent nature of his actions.
Blank was found guilty of disarming an Egg Harbor Township police officer and shooting her three times.
He then shot a second officer, whose bulletproof vest likely saved his life, and opened fire at the head of a third officer.

“These actions demonstrate a shocking disregard for human life, particularly the lives of those sworn to protect the public,” said Prosecutor Reynolds.
Blank was convicted by an Atlantic County jury and sentenced in accordance with the seriousness of his crimes and his extensive criminal record.
The conviction and sentence were upheld through multiple appeals, all of which found no merit in his claims.
“The Executive Clemency Unit should reject this request without hesitation,” Reynolds added. “Granting clemency in this case would undermine the integrity of our justice system and the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers each day.”
Prosecutor Reynolds emphasized the office’s unwavering commitment to public safety, the rule of law, and justice for those who serve and protect the community.
