A man is recovering after being stabbed early Thursday morning in Newark, according to information from the Newark Police Department.
Authorities said officers were called to the 400 block of North 7th Street around 1:30 a.m. on May 8, where they found the wounded victim.
Investigators determined that the man had initially been involved in a dispute with a group of people he knew near Springdale Avenue and North 11th Street.
After the confrontation, the group reportedly chased the victim to North 7th Street, where he was stabbed.
Emergency responders transported him to University Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda stated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Police are working to identify and locate the suspects involved.
