Authorities in Newark are continuing to search for multiple armed suspects who led police on a high-speed pursuit that stretched across Essex and Hudson counties, according to initial reports.
The chase began when officers attempted to stop a tan 2018 Ford Taurus in Newark’s South Ward. The vehicle, believed to be linked to multiple weapons possession cases and other felonies, was occupied by several individuals, reports said.

Instead of stopping, the driver sped off, initiating a dangerous pursuit that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.
The suspects traveled east toward I-78, then northbound on the Garden State Parkway, briefly entering Bloomfield before doubling back southbound through Irvington.
Police continued to pursue the vehicle through the area of Springfield Avenue and Grove Street in Irvington, before the chase extended into Hudson County.
The suspects were last seen entering the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike and then exiting onto Route 1&9 toward Jersey City.
No injuries or property damage were reported during the incident. The vehicle managed to evade capture, and law enforcement agencies in multiple jurisdictions are now involved in the ongoing investigation.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Newark Police.
