Cool, Pleasant Morning in Newark with Sunshine Ahead; Showers Possible Tonight

Newark is waking up to a cool 55 degrees this morning under partly cloudy skies, setting the stage for another pleasant day in the city. 

If you’re out walking the dog or heading to work, you’ll want to grab a jacket, as light winds are adding an extra chill to the air.

According to the National Weather Service, today will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 70 degrees. 

Winds will be light and variable in the morning before shifting southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight, conditions will change slightly with a slight chance of showers turning into a chance of thunderstorms after 11 p.m. 

Patchy fog is also expected to develop after 5 a.m. as clouds increase and temperatures dip to around 57 degrees.

Enjoy this beautiful day, Newark — but keep an umbrella handy for later tonight!
