Trenton Man Arrested for Shooting That Killed Man, Injured Woman

Authorities in Mercer County announced that a Trenton man has been arrested for an April shooting in the city that killed a man and injured a woman.

Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey reported that Naquan Green, 37, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He was arrested on Monday, April 28, in Ewing by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, MCPO officials say. 

Mercer County authorities said the prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Green pending trial.

According to Mercer County officials, at approximately 4:14 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, Trenton police were in the area of 300 East State Street and heard multiple gunshots.

Patrol units were also dispatched to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple rounds, Mercer County officials stated. 

Police responded to the 200 block of East State Street and discovered two adults, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds, MCPO officials say. 

According to Mercer County authorities, the victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where Marquis Skillman, 38, of Trenton, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The 39-year-old woman suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot to her leg, MCPO officials said. 

The investigation is ongoing.
