Authorities in Newark have issued an alert and launched an extensive search for several suspects wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies Monday evening.
Preliminary reports indicated that the suspects were last seen fleeing in a white 2020 Hyundai Elantra, distinguishable by its black bumper, bearing New Jersey license plate number "U19-RNU."
Witnesses reported the vehicle was occupied by three men, all believed to be armed.
One of the reported robberies occurred in the 200 block of South 7th Street.
No physical injuries have been reported in connection with any of the incidents.
Police departments throughout the region have been alerted to be on the lookout for the vehicle and suspects.
The investigation is active and ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Newark police immediately.
