By: Tracie Carter Jersey City police and fire officials are investigating after a restaurant on Academy Street was damaged by vandalism and a suspicious fire on Sunday night. According to authorities, firefighters were called to Jersey Banh Mi, located at 190 Academy Street, just before 9:55 p.m. Upon arriving, crews discovered evidence that someone had vandalized the establishment and ignited a small fire inside. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing more extensive damage to the restaurant. The investigation has since been turned over to the Jersey City Arson Squad. No arrests have been reported, and authorities say the suspect fled the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
