Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that resulted in property damage late Thursday night in a residential neighborhood.
According to authorities, officers were alerted around 10:20 p.m. by a ShotSpotter activation in the area of North 10th Street and Temple Street. 
When officers arrived, they discovered multiple shell casings at the scene but found no victims.
During a canvass of the neighborhood, police located a home on Temple Street that had been struck by gunfire.
A bullet had pierced a window, but fortunately, no one inside the residence was injured.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and remains at large in. The motive behind the shooting is currently under active investigation.
