Man Charged for 2023 Hit-and-Run in Jersey City

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Wednesday, April 23, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a Bayonne man for his role in a hit-and-run that occurred in Jersey City on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated that Adrian Perez, 23, is charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Endangering an Injured Victim.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance. Perez was charged on a direct indictment by a Hudson County Grand Jury, according to Hudson County officials.

Shortly after 2:33 p.m. on October 26, 2023, OCPO authorities say that the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Barbara Place and Grand Street.

Ocean County officials said responding officers located a 37-year-old female victim with multiple serious injuries.

The striking vehicle, later identified as a Chevrolet Suburban being operated by Perez, did not remain at the scene, OCPO officials said.
