Deadly Saturday Morning Crash on NJ Turnpike in Middlesex County Under Investigation

New Jersey State Police have launched an investigation into a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike in Middlesex County.

According to authorities, troopers were dispatched around 4 a.m. to the southbound lanes near mile marker 94.3 in Woodbridge following reports of a collision with injuries. 

Upon arrival, responding units found a crash scene that had disabled the right lane of the roadway.

One individual was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police also detained another driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The crash caused traffic delays in the area as investigators worked to determine the cause of the incident. 

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
