A 37-year-old woman who sustained severe injuries after jumping from a moving ambulance on Interstate 295 earlier this month has died, according to information released by New Jersey State Police.

The incident occurred on April 4 along the northbound side of the highway in Mount Laurel, where authorities said the woman exited the rear of the ambulance while it was in motion and fell onto the roadway.
Emergency responders rushed her to the hospital in serious condition following the fall.
Her death has since been confirmed in the state’s fatal crash database. Officials have not released her name, and it remains unclear when she passed away.
The circumstances surrounding how or why she managed to exit the ambulance remain under investigation.
According to the statement released by State Police, no further updates have been provided since the incident, which temporarily shut down I-295 North and caused significant traffic delays in the area.

Authorities continue to look into the events leading up to the tragedy.
