Two Dead, Several Injured in Late-Night Crash on Highway in NJ

New Jersey State Police are actively investigating a horrific crash that claimed two lives and injured several others late Saturday night on I-295 in Burlington County.

According to preliminary information, troopers were called to the northbound lanes of the highway near milepost 50.6 in Florence Township around 10:30 p.m. for reports of a serious crash with injuries.

When emergency crews arrived, they encountered a devastating scene.

 Troopers immediately began administering CPR to two individuals who were critically injured, but both victims were later pronounced dead at the scene.

At least six others were transported to area hospitals for treatment, though the extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

A portion of I-295 was shut down overnight as authorities launched a full-scale investigation into the cause of the crash.

 The exact circumstances leading up to the wreck remain under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
