A 10-year-old Newark student was accepted into the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Theater Conservatory.
Hannah Sky Caldwell, a St. Mary's School student, was offered a spot in the Junior Company of the 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory according to officials.
Theater officials said in a statement, "Hannah was accepted into the conservatory and will begin a rigorous five-week program designed to enhance performance skills, while instilling the technique, discipline and professionalism needed to excel in the performing arts".
Hannah was chosen to the conservatory shortly after being crowned Miss Exceptional Princess 2014 where she performed a combination of Still I Rise by Maya Angelou and a song from Yolanda Adam for her talent.
"Based on skill, experience and the quality of their audition, Conservatory students are grouped into three companies, allowing them to develop at their own pace, while working on age and skill-appropriate material" according to theater officials.
Hannah demonstrates a rigorous afterschool and weekend schedule as she attends Lachaney's Dance studio in Maplewood and has demonstrated a love of entrepreneurship due to her sale of self-made pillows that she sells under her own company "Hannah's Hands" in Bound Brook NJ.
"Taking part in the Conservatory is a remarkable opportunity, providing experience and exposure that simply can't be obtained anywhere else. Participation is a great honor...a chance for students to demonstrate their talent on a grand scale" theater officials continued.
Congratulations to Hannah Sky Caldwell!
