Police Charge Riverdale Woman in Connection with Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Pequannock Township

Morris County officials reported that Ms. Maria Oliveri,  35, of River Sale, has been charged in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in Pequannock Township on June 11. 

According to Morris County authority, at approximately 8:23 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle, a pedestrian, and a bicyclist in the area of 157 Boulevard in Pequannock Township.

Authorities said the investigation revealed that a Mitsubishi Mirage operated by Oliveri had been traveling north in the southbound lane of travel on the Boulevard when it struck a female bicyclist and a female pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 55, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The bicyclist, 32, sustained bodily injuries as a result of the collision.

Following further investigation, Oliveri was charged with one count of second-degree Vehicular Homicide and one count of disorderly person Assault by Auto on September 9, 2022.

Authorities said Oliveri has also been charged with several motor vehicle offenses.

Members of the Pequannock Township Police Department, Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit all participated in this investigation.
