Mount Olive Baptist Church of Hackensack To Install 17th New Pastor in Church's 133 Year History

Hackensack

This Sunday, May 22, the historic Mount Olive Baptist Church will install the Rev. Dr. John O. Page as the 17th Pastor.

After an extensive, almost 2-year national search, the members voted and selected Dr. Page to succeed the Pastor Emeritus Rev. Gregory J. Jackson.

When asked to put into words what it has meant to answer the call at a time in our nation's tumultuous moment such as this, Dr. Page responded: "My family and I are not just excited to be called to NJ, we are excited and mindful of the rich legacy of the church and its extensive outreach to the diverse Bergen County community.

"We are cognizant of the church's rich legacy in civil rights and voting rights.  We consider it a privilege to be called to this historic church at this moment in time as our country faces tremendous headwinds across various fronts."

Dr. Page is looking forward to continuing the tradition of bringing all parts of the community together to foster the common good for all.

Rev. Dr. John O. Page, a native of Albany, GA, was the former senior pastor at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Brockton, MA.

Dr. Page has an extensive & interesting background that includes serving on numerous religious and civic boards such as the Commission Board for Baptist ministers in MA; The United Baptist Convention of MA, RI & NH and Chairperson of "We Got Next," a movement dedicated to empowerment, education and discipleship for young adults.
