Police in Newark were on the scene of a late-night shooting that erupted in a neighborhood in the city's West Ward on Wednesday.
Shooters occupying a vehicle arrived in the 400 block of South 12th Street and began repeatedly firing at unknown targets around 11:20 p.m.
Residents scrambling inside their homes for cover dialed 911 requesting police assistance.
Officer arrived at the scene and found a vehicle struck by multiple bullets.
While searching the neighborhood, police found another unoccupied vehicle riddled with bullets.
No victims were located, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been arrested.
