Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Sharique J. Ray, 28, of Newark.
On Tuesday, March 8, Ray was shot on Huntington Terrace in Newark.
Police said Ray was pronounced dead at 8:52 p.m.
