Authorities Investigate Suspicious Death of Man, Dog in New Jersey House

Burlington County authorities reported today that police are investigating the suspicious death of an Evesham Township man, and a person of interest in connection with the incident is in custody. According to officials, Police were called to the Olympus Apartments on Baker Boulevard in Evesham today at 9:13 a.m. for a report of a possible dog attack on a resident of the complex.  

When police arrived, they discovered a male deceased in the residence, and a dog, the victim’s pet, dead, on a stairwell landing.  

Officials said the apartment where the victim was discovered contained signs of a struggle.

The ensuing investigation led authorities to identify a person of interest who was taken into custody shortly after noon today.  

There does not appear to be any danger to the public from this incident.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. 

The investigation is ongoing and being handled by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Evesham Township Police Department.
