Authorities have identified the 69-year-old New York driver killed Thursday afternoon on Route 287 in Mahwah.
The driver of a 2011 Subaru Outback, later identified as, Steve Faust, was driving northbound near milepost 65 when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked tractor-trailer parked, police said.
Police said, upon arrival Faust was found trapped inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead a half hour later, added police.
The driver of the truck did not suffer any injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
