Police are requesting EMS to rush to the scene of a crash with a male found shot inside a vehicle in Newark’s South Ward.
At approximately 4:42 p.m., a female caller reported to police dispatch that a vehicle hit her car with a man inside suffering bullet wounds near 254 West Runyon.
Several officers arrived and found the unresponsive victim suffering bullet wounds in his abdomen and neck at that location.
Police have a crime scene established and and investigation underway.
It is not clear where the victim suffered his gunshot wounds at this time. There were about five vehicles damaged at the scene of the crash.
Newark Major Crimes unit has been noticed and will respond to the scene.
