There were no physical injuries reported in an armed carjacking that occurred in a section of Newark's South Ward on Wednesday night.
According to police, at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers were called to investigate reports of an armed carjacking in progress in the 20's block of Wharton Street.
Upon arrival, police were told by the victim that a male suspect produced a knife and took a white 2013 Chrystler.
Police say the vehicle has a reported NJ license plate temp tag "V112438".
The incident remains under investigation.
