Police officials in Trenton are investigating a shooting incident that left a man dead this evening in the city.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 1100 East State Street around 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police said they found an adult male victim in the rear of a building suffering multiple gunshots wounds.
Police say the unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is leading the active and ongoing investigation.
