DEVELOPING: Second Body Found Floating in Hudson River in Jersey City

Rescue crews recovered the body of a second person found floating in the Hudson River this afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, NJ State Police, Jersey City Firefighters and police are now searching a large area of the Hudson River for a possible boat accident after emergency responders found at least the second of two bodies in the water Saturday.

Police say around 1:35 p.m., the unidentified female was pulled from the river near the Goldman Sach Tower located in the 30's block of Hudson Street.

According to police, The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances behind a body found floating in the Hudson River Saturday morning.

In the earlier incident, police were called to the Morris Canal Park to investigate reports of a person in the river just before 8 a.m.

Upon arrival, search and rescue crews recovered the remains of the person and brought it back to land.

The State Regional Medical Examiners Office will determine the cause of death for the person, according to police.

Offcials are looking into the possibilities of an accident in the river or capsized boat.
