Tomorrow: 29th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Newark

Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council, Santa Claus, and other dignitaries will join municipal employees and residents from every ward to celebrate the City of Newark's 29th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, in the City Hall First Floor Rotunda, located at 920 Broad Street, on Wednesday, December 10, at 4:30 p.m.

The 30-foot Spruce tree will use 39,600 environmentally-friendly and energy-saving lights, powered by solar panels. 

Performing at the ceremony will be the Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens Alumni Ensemble, the Voices of Newark Choir, poet Betty Neals, and the Newark Boys Chorus. 

The Salvation Army will provide free hot chocolate for attendees.
Santa Claus will make a stop to greet the Newark youth.
