Critical Injuries for Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Passaic

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman announce that at approximately 8:02 p.m. on Sunday police responded to Pennington Avenue near Gregory Avenue in the City of Passaic in response to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

The pedestrian, Mr. Paresh Rana, 49, of Passaic was crossing Pennington Avenue when he was struck by a motor vehicle traveling southbound.

After striking Mr. Rana, the vehicle fled the scene before the police arrived.

Police say Mr. Rana was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he is receiving treatment for serious bodily injuries and is in critical condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
