51-year-old Dennis Kankula of Detroit, Michigan is recovering at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack and falling down an escalator at Newark International Airport on Tuesday morning.
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officers worked quickly with EMS to save his life and rushed him to the Advanced Cardiac Care Unit at Newark Beth Israel where he is recovering comfortably.
The seven officers involved in the life-saving rescue visited Mr. Kankula this morning, and were personally thanked for their life-saving efforts by Mr. Kankula’s family and Newark Beth Israel’s President and CEO, Darrell K.Terry, Sr.
