Hillside

There were no fatal injuries immediately reported for a crash that had a car flip over on a highway then land on train tracks on the HIllside-Newark border.

It happened in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 -at Weequahic Park- on the Hillside-Newark border. Officials say the driver of a Honda Pilot somehow lost control and crashed at that location.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to roll over several times and land off the road, approximately 500ft away, onto railroad tracks.

It is believed that the occupants miraculously got out of the overturned vehicle but sprinted away from the scene.

Police say the crash caused 10-15 minute delays on Route 22 to remove the car from the tracks.

There were no other cars involved.
