Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a carjacking that occurred at a location in the city's downtown on Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 1040 Broad Street to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.
Units arrived at the scene found the victim who said a male suspect took their white 2019 Hoda Accord then sped away in the vehicle.
EMS was called to the scene to treat non-life threatening injuries that the victim suffered during the incident.
There were no immediate reports of a weapon shown at this time.
