Monmouth County authorities are actively involved in an investigation involving the death of a person found inside a house in Middletown on Monday.
Police were called to the 200 block of Ocean Avenue at approximately 5:40 p.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, they found an unidentified person suffering unconfirmed injuries, possibly from a sharp item.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Officials have not released many details regarding the incident at this time and would only say that the cause of the person's death is under investigation.
