Man in Verbal Dispute With Girlfriend Fires Shots in the Air in Lakewood

According to a statement released by Lakewod Police officials, at approximately 1:40 a.m, police were called in reference to an unidentified man outside threatening people with a handgun at 433 Woodlake Manor Drive.

Police say he caller stated that the suspect fired two shots in the air after an argument with his girlfriend.

Upon arrival, there were a number of people inside the residence with the suspect still in possession of a handgun. Responding officers heard what they believed to be approximately 5-7 shots fired inside the house.

Police say the suspect, later identified as Mr. Jeffrey Pleites-Sola, was able to elude responding units on foot for a short time. After a brief search of the area, Sola was found squatting in the dumpster of an adjacent neighborhood.

A subsequent check of the area found a handgun in the area of the driveway to Woodlake Country Club according to police.

Jeffrey Pleites-Sola was arrested without further incident and transported to the Lakewood Police Department.

Police say at this time the investigation is still active and charges will be announced later on today.
