East Orange

East Orange firefighters battled a fast-moving fire that caused severe damage to a house in the city Thursday morning.

According to officials, the fast-moving fire broke out at approximately 4 a.m. in the 300 block of South Clinton Street.

Officials say crews arrived at the scene and activated a second alarm after they observed heavy fire coming from the rear of a 3-story wood-framed house at that location.

Crews were able to immediately get water on the blaze that knocked it down in less than a half-hour according to reports.

A search of the home indicated no trapped or injured occupants.
