Gunfire Injures Two Near North 1st in Paterson

Paterson Police are on the search for a suspect who fired over a dozen rounds that injured two victims on a street in the city Monday night.

According to authorities, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of North 1st and East Main streets just before 9:40 p.m.

Units arrived to find about 15 shell casings, but after a search of the area, there were no victims located.

While police investigated at the crime scene, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted authorities when two victims entered the emergency department suffering non-life threatening bullet wounds in their legs.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation and the suspect remains at-large.
