Police officials in Elizabeth are looking into a stabbing incident that sent a person to the hospital suffering severe injuries on Sunday morning.
Details regarding the incident are pending a police information request but according to preliminary reports, police set up crime scene tape that stretched around several businesses -including a night club- in the teens block of Broad Street after they found an unidentified person suffering a stab injury shortly before 3 a.m.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where the extent of their injuries could not immediately be confirmed.
It is not clear if the victim was a patron of the nearby Dolce's night club or if the person suffered his injuries at another location then fled to the Broad Street business for help.
Police officers were observed at the scene collected several pieces of evidence including blood-soaked clothing.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
