Overturned Gasoline Tanker Truck Closes Outer Lanes of NJ Turnpike from Middlesex to Essex Counties

NJ State Police officials closed all outer lanes of the NJ Turnpike from Middlesex to Essex counties after a tank truck carrying gas crashed then overturned on the highway during the overnight hours.

According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at around 12:20 a.m. in the southbound outer lanes near mile marker 88.5 exit 10 in Edison.

The tanker truck -that carried about 7000 gallons of gas- overturned on the highway causing a hazmat cleanup condition according to officials.

Officials say the car lanes are moving without any delays at this time.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and no injuries reported.
