Police in Elizabeth are investigating a double stabbing that sent two people to the hospital on Sunday morning in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 5th and Marshall streets to investigate reports of an assault with injuries at approximately 4 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they found two people suffering stab wounds then requested EMS to that location.
The victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark where the extent of their injuries could not immediately be confirmed.
The motive for the attacks is under investigation.
