Nutley Man Arested for Illegally Dumping in Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Mr. Edward J. Petracco, 57, of Nutley, for an incident of illegal dumping today.

Police say at approximately 2:40 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed a male driving a burgundy Ford pickup in the 100 block of Verona Avenue.

Detectives watched as the driver exited his vehicle and began throwing large plastic bags and cardboard onto the city street. He then re-entered his vehicle and began to drive away according to police

Detectives of the Illegal Dumping Task Force stopped the suspect and arrested him.

Police charged Peteacco with illegal dumping and the illegal transport of solid waste. Petracco’s truck was subsequently towed and is subject to confiscation by forfeiture according to police.

The Illegal Dumping Task Force has made over 95 arrests thus far this year.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
