Gloucester Prosecutor to Release 911 Calls of Deadly Police-Involved Shooting of Alleged Shoplifter in Deptford

This is a statement released by Gloucester County Prosecutor Charles A. Fiore regarding a deadly police-involved shooting that killed a female alleged shoplifter in Deptford Township:

"The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing with a thorough investigation of the use of deadly force by Deptford Twp. Police Sergeant Kevin Clements on June 9, 2018, in the area of the Marshalls store in Deptford Township, NJ.

The County of Gloucester will release 911 calls and radio communications related to this event sometime on Monday

The investigation of this incident is being conducted in accordance with stringent guidelines promulgated by the NJ Attorney General’s Office.

This office will release its findings to the public at the appropriate time, but not, obviously, before the completion of its investigation, which involves additional witness interviews and the analysis of forensic evidence. I can assure you that our review will be thorough, impartial and consistent with the Attorney General’s guidelines.”
