Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigation a fatal double shooting.
According to authorities, at approximately 9:26 p.m. yesterday Quan Harmon, 20, of Newark and his brother Quamir Harmon, 21, also of Newark were shot in the 900 block of Bergen Street in Newark.
EMS rushed both men to University Hospital where doctors pronounced Quan dead at 10:12 p.m.
Police say Quamir Harmon was initially listed in critical condition and was later pronounced at 12:25 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
At this time, no arrests have been made police say.
