UPDATE: Man Succumbs to Injuries in Woodbridge Wrong-Way Crash

The 88-year-old man who crashed after driving the wrong way on Route 9 in Woodbridge early Sunday has died.

Police say the unidentified man drove a Nissan Pathfinder northbound on the southbound side around 10 a.m. and hit a 26-year-old man in an Accura RSX head on.

The crash sent both victims to the hospital with "significant injuries" according to police.

Both victims were the only occupants inside their vehicles.

The 26-year-old man driver, who suffered serious injuries, has since been transferred to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, according to police. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or perhaps may have seen the Pathfinder before the crash to call Woodbridge police at 732-634-7700.
